On November 15th 2011, the ongoing battle for the LG 3D Gaming Championship continued at the Living Rooms video café at Dubai Festival City. Let us quickly walk you through what happened so that you can feel as if you were there amongst all the sweating and console-clutching.
The Event
It all started off with the contestants, who were bloggers and the media, entering the Living Rooms where everything was already set up for the competition. Mr. Paik, the President of LG Electronics Gulf, then addressed the crowd with a welcome speech followed by an exciting introduction of what was going to happen that day at the event.
After this, the gaming winners from weeks before received their prizes whilst beaming away as they clutched onto their well-deserved LG prize cheque. The eager competitors were then split in two groups, one to battle in Need for Speed the car racing game and the other in FIFA Game. Contestants had the opportunity to not only use state-of-the-art gaming consoles but they would also be viewing the game on LG’s CINEMA 3D SMART TV. Pretty cool huh?

The event was also the launch platform for LG’s first Media Club Activity, organised to engage with the media in a more casual environment as well as showcasing the ‘fun’ element of LG products.
As contesters were eliminated in the knock-out stages, two gamers were left to battle it out in the two game categories. A contester from the media was victorious in the Need for Speed competition but as for the soccer game FIFA, things really heated up. Ibrahim Dolah from Sada Newspaper and Ramveer Rai drew scoring two goals each and so, it was all left down to penalties. As the atmosphere more grew intense, the crowd gathered around the contesters to get a glimpse of the deciding goal. One of the contestants, Ramveer, remained undefeated though and the champions of both gaming categories walked away with a 42” LG LED TV as their prize.

The On-Going Competition
Since August 6th 2011, competitors have been going head to head testing their gaming skills using groundbreaking LG technology at the Living Rooms on a daily, weekly and monthly basis. The contestants will be battling it out until January 6th 2012, trying their best to survive the knock-out stages in order to compete in the Mega Championship. All of them are striving to become the first 3D Gaming Champion in the UAE.
The four “mega” winners will be awarded with the LG 3D package, including a 42” CINEMA 3D SMART TV, a 3D laptop, the Optimus 3D mobile phone, a 3D monitor and a high-tech gaming console. They will pretty much be fully kitted out with all of the 3D technology; something any gamer out there would want! There are now hundreds of contestants competing to be the 3D gaming champion and so all we can say is: Game on UAE.
