The Optimus Black’s NOVA display really makes a difference

Smartphones are the new epicentre of our daily lives. The smarter your phone, the better your productivity, media experience and a whole lot more. Yes LG’s Optimus Black P970 is a Smartphone. But it isn’t just a smart phone, it’s smarter. Weighing just 109gms, LG engineers had sent the Optimus Black on a crash diet to become the slimmest phone at 6mm, and lighter than most Android competitors, who by the way sport a smaller screen.
Talking about screens, the Optimus Black has the Super Bright 4’ NOVA Display screen, which provides you with picture- perfect clarity both indoors and outdoors. So be it reading web-pages, e-mails and documents, it’s all hassle-free. It isn’t magic, it’s just smart. You see the 480 x 800p display is indeed beautifully bright and clear, perfectly fine indoors or outdoors, reaching up to 700cd/m2 – but with increased battery efficiency, thanks to its "luminance reduction technology"

The LG Optimus Black runs on Android 2.2 Froyo with the Optimus 2.0 UI overlay. And variety is where the Optimus Black aces, offering seven home screens to the user to customise, play, explore and more. The 1GHz single core processor is more than capable of happily sliding through them all with ease, and running any apps you might wish to pull up.
Although different, it does boasts of the usual Android touchscreen buttons, as well as the three external buttons – a slim volume rocker, power/lock button and the gesture key, part of the LG Gesture UI. The Gesture UI interface is fun and useful, as it makes it easier to use the phone and flip through functions with one hand. And, if you have big enough hands to make it work, it's great.
The G key serves the dual purpose of doubling up as the camera key, helping you access the camera app even from the lock screen. And the 5megapixel does not disappoint. With the images produced looking gorgeous on the NOVA screen.
Well now that we are through with the front face value of the phone, let’s get to the bottom of things, where we will find the tiny slot for removing the battery cover, and once you get underneath the hood you are sure to find the SIM holder, microSD slot and the battery.
That’s our take on the LG Optimus Black, do share your experience with us too!
